Duo and Tetra Round Out Heatworks Collection at CES

Once again, frog functions as interpreters of technology for our client, Heatworks, to bring their proprietary Ohmic Array water heating technology to a refined collection of consumer appliances. This year at CES, we unveiled the Duo carafe—an unprecedented new water system that combines on-demand hot water, precision temperature control, and water filtration—all in a beautiful, energy-efficient countertop design.

Also on view was the Tetra countertop dishwasher, which won numerous accolades at last year’s show, including Most Innovative Design. Event goers had the chance to see Tetra in action this year, with an updated, operational model. Heatworks is now taking pre-orders for the Tetra.

Both products were well received by viewers and press alike. WIRED named the Duo one of the most interesting gadgets at CES, and House Beautiful called it the “water filter with an ingenious twist.” Shauncy Ferro (Mental Floss) also notes that “the Duo can blend seamlessly into your minimalist kitchen vibe… you’ll definitely want to leave it out on your counter so that it’s in full view of all your guests.”

Elsewhere at CES, frog Creative Director, Francois Nguyen gave a keynote with Core77. The talk, entitled “The Tyranny of the Rounded Rectangle” explored how technology has shaped consumer products and experiences, and the designer’s role in adapting to this rapidly evolving future.
