Telehealth Toolbox by frog Wins Gold in DRIVENxDESIGN’s 2020 New York Design Awards

NEW YORK—Telehealth Toolbox, an online resource to help doctors transition to telemedicine quickly, safely and efficiently during the COVID-19 pandemic, has won a 2020 New York Design Award, earning Gold in the “Service – Community” category. The award was given by DRIVENxDESIGN, an organization of nearly 100,000 designers that recognizes the world’s most extraordinary designs and “the role of design in enriching the human experience.”

The New York Design Awards program “celebrates the creativity and courage of those who are leading the way,” according to DRIVENxDESIGN’s website. Judging panel members are recognized voices in the design economy sourced from leading studios, industry bodies and design commissioners.

Developed as a pro bono initiative, Telehealth Toolbox is the brainchild of an international team of designers at frog. It provides a set of simple guidelines and practical tools to accelerate the adoption of telehealth practices by primary care physicians, particularly those at smaller practices that lack the resources or experience to offer telemedicine services. Launched in April, it is available in five languages: English, French, German, Spanish and Italian.

“Even now towards the end of 2020, the global medical community is still adjusting to a system where practitioners consult with patients virtually instead of seeing them in person. Our goal behind the Telehealth Toolbox was to quickly address the urgent need for simple tools for general practitioners, and accelerate doctors’ transition to telemedicine,” said Thomas Sutton, chief design officer for EMEA at frog. “It is an honor to receive this recognition from the DRIVENxDESIGN Awards partners and I’m incredibly proud of frog for providing this resource to the medical community.”
